- A Marriage License must be obtained from the town in which you are having the ceremony.
- A Marriage License is valid for 65 days, (the ceremony must take place within 65 days of applying for the license). No witnesses are required in CT
- Both parties must sign the Marriage License and take an oath in the presence of the Town Clerk or Assistant Town Clerk. Both parties must appear in person together or individually.
- The cost for the license is $50.
- Appointments may be necessary when applying for a Marriage License. Applicants should call first and plan on spending about 20 minutes in the Town Clerk's Office.
