My recent vlog about everything you need to know about Save the Date cards. Some of my past and current couples Save the Date cards are shared. Here is me unboxing the track jacket I won from WeddingWire. Another wonderful woman owed business I have met on this journey is Rita's Floral Touch. At the various wedding shows I have attended the floral decorations from Rita's have brighten up each venue. I have personally seen her at work decorating The Fox Hill Inn before ceremonies. One time I was there for a rehearsal and she was setting up for the wedding that day. I am always amazed at how beautiful she makes everything, from the aisles to the alter area to the reception. Go to Rita's Floral Touch Facebook page to see more floral arrangements.
Warm Wishes, Jeanine I can't remember where I first meet Candee from Wedding Makeup by Candee Caldwell. I do know that on a rainy afternoon we meet for coffee to talk about our wedding businesses. I have had the privilege of seeing Candee at the various wedding shows I have attended. She always takes a moment to say hello and touch base. As I was checking in with a bride at a wedding we were both at, Candee turned and looked at me and said hold one a minute, let me just give you a little touch up. How sweet was that? Even the Justice of the Peace needs to look good on this special day!
What I really like about Candee is her Facebook Page. She is always so excited for her clients, whether they are brides, prom attendees, engagement and various photo shoots. I am always looking forward to her post especially those with tips and what is trending. Warm Wishes, Jeanine Schirmer Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of being a vendor at The Southbury Bridal Show. I am not even sure how I first found out about this this but from the past 2 shows, I have gotten to know Heather from Respond If You Please, who coordinates the show. What a show she puts on!
There were 3 rooms plus of wedding professionals. Anything you could need to make your day special was on hand. Each room had a delicious assortment of food from the Heritage Hotel. If that wasn't enough waiters walked around with trays of appetizers. One of the things I liked most about this show was a comment I overheard. Although there were some vendors selling the same product or service, "Many of them recommend each other when they are already booked" which speaks to the professionalism and quality of those participating in this wedding show. This is a once a year wedding show, although I did get an email that they are looking to do a fall show as well. Either way this show should not be missed! For those who are engaged and looking to get married in 2015 or 2016 make sure you add The Southbury Bridal Show to the list of shows you must attend. Over the past 3 months I have had the pleasure to be able to participate in some wonderful wedding shows. Today I want to focus on the shows from Danbury Bridal Show. These shows were put together by a dear friend of my family, Mike Tomassi. Words can not truly express how wonderful Mike is. He has watched me grow into the person I am today and has encouraged me this past year as I entered the wedding industry as a JP. Mike Tomassi not only organized and ran these shows but also runs Picture This Photography. I guess I am a little biased to the man who was the photographer for my own wedding.
Each of the shows is at a different venue in the Greater Danbury area. One of the shows is even at the Danbury Fair Mall. Couple have the opportunity to see different wedding professionals while also seeing and tasting the venue at it's finest. The shows are very enjoyable for both the wedding couples and the wedding professionals. At the shows I did, I felt welcomed by the other wedding professionals which let to some great networking and future recommendations and referrals. Also the couples really seemed to be enjoying themselves and all were a pleasure to meet and talk to. Whether you are a wedding professional or a couple looking to participate in a wedding expo I highly recommend checking out Danbury Bridal Shows! #Wedding Wednesday Discussion: What are some unique wedding ideas you have done or seen?
This week's #FF goes to Eclips on 6. Recently Erin did my hair for one of the wedding's I was the JP at. Erin has been doing my hair. I needed to find a new hairdresser because mine was retiring. At the time my thick wavy/curly hair was long and I just needed someone to not make me look like the burning bush when they gave me a cut. I was at my mom's salon when I was watching Erin with another customer who was having some hair issues herself. Erin really listened to her, made her feel calm and gave her a hair cut that helped.... and was really cute as well! Next time my mom went in, I went to see Erin as well. Since then I have followed Erin from 2 different salons and now to the one that she is the proud owner of. I recommend her to everyone I know especially if you have thick wavy/curly hair. I am a total Diva Curl fan. Now my mom and a handful of friends go to Erin as well.
EClips does hair and makeup for weddings. You can have On Location services or In Salon services. They are located at 11 Stony Hill Road in Bethel CT. The salon number is 203 778 8188. Please like them on Facebook for updated photos and promotions! September's theme will be Navy and Gold. Both these colors have become popular for weddings this year. Going into the Fall/Winter season is a perfect time for these colors to make an appearance at weddings. Stay tuned each week to see ideas to incorporate Navy and Gold into your wedding.
